A Brief Biography of Tia Torres
Tia was born and raised in California and has always had a passion for animals. At the young age of 16, she gained experience in kennel managing by working in a veterinary hospital. By 21, she had opened her own business, a dog-grooming service called Tinta’s K-9 Design. By the late 80’s, she had become an animal rescue worker, granting the wishes of those ill-fated animals that didn’t have a chance to survive in the wild.
As the years passed and her career blossomed, she created a charity called Villalobos Rescue Center, to rescue and care for the unwanted animals. Her husband, Aren Marcus Jackson, was an invaluable asset in setting it up and giving much-needed financial help. Her children, Tania, Mariah and Kanani, are also actively involved in the work of the rescue center. In 2009, filming for Pit Bulls began and Tia’s strong and unshakable character, won over many hearts!

Today, Tia’s fame has spread far and wide. She regularly appears as a panelist on TV shows such as Dr. Phil, The View and The Chew, etc., to voice her opinion on animal welfare. In 2010, Tia was nominated for a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Program.
Despite being quite busy with various commitments, Tia continues to devote much of her time and energy to her rescue center. She recently announced an upcoming project to expand her center to Louisiana, through a new facility. She also plans to make her organization legit at the government level, something she considers to be a top priority.
